About InfiRay RICO MICRO MQD Mount
Mobility is the point here: this mount system is built around a dovetail shoe and a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny interface so the optic can move between helmet use and rifle use without changing the underlying mounting format.
iRayUSA and American Defense Manufacturing paired the PICTAIL with the MQD to give the setup an adjustable footprint on standard Picatinny rail. In standalone optic mode it provides over 4.5 inches of rear offset, and when reversed for clip-on use it reduces rear offset to 1.5 inches.
The PICTAIL side is compatible with standard dovetail receptacles used in helmet mounting interface hardware made by Wilcox KVC and others. In clip-on mode, it needs just 4 rail slots in front of a day optic, which matters on shorter platforms like SBRs and pistols.
