On a Mark 7 1050 or RL1100, this sensor is there to catch the mistakes that turn into a mess: no bullet, sideways bullet, toppled bullet, or no brass when you are processing brass. It uses a laser and mirror setup to watch the stroke and stop the machine when the beam returns instead of being interrupted.
The BulletSense mounts on a user-adjustable slider with a traditional thumb screw, so the laser height can be set for different bullet profiles and calibers. Mark 7 says it works from 9mm through .308, installs with the included hardware, and does not require modifications to a Dillon machine.
