The folding mechanism is the point here, and on this lower it is built into the receiver itself rather than added on as an adapter. That keeps the package compact for storage while still giving you a complete AR-15 lower set up with a rifle stock, trigger, safety, and grip already in place.

Shield Arms machines the SA-15 from 7075-T6 billet aluminum and finishes it in matte black hard-coat anodizing to Mil 8625 Type 3 Class 2. It accepts standard AR-15 magazines, carries a MULTI caliber marking, and is compatible with most standard AR-15 components and most aftermarket parts.

There are a few smart assembly details here too: a beveled magwell for easier reloads, a threaded bolt catch pin, a threaded takedown pin spring and detent hole with 6-32 set screw, and an upper tension screw behind the grip screw to take vertical play out of the fit between upper and lower. It ships with an H2 weight proprietary buffer and comes fitted with a B5 Systems Bravo stock, B5 Systems grip, EDT Designated Marksman trigger with Duplex Trigger Bow, plus a Radian safety selector.
