Built around a 20-inch heavy sporter barrel, this 7mm-08 Rem bolt rifle keeps the package trim at 6.8 pounds while still giving you a threaded muzzle, spiral fluting, and a 1:9.5 twist. That combination makes sense for a big-game setup where weight matters but a stiffer-profile barrel and muzzle compatibility still have a place.

The Axis 2 Pro uses a right-hand bolt action with a side bolt release, detachable 4-round box magazine, and ambidextrous magazine release. Savage also includes its AccuTrigger, adjustable from 2.5 to 6 pounds, plus a one-piece 0 MOA scope base to get glass mounted without adding another part to the list.
